Chairman Liu attends Fortune Global Forum

The Fortune Global Forum was held in Chengdu on June 6 – 8, 2013. Chairman Liu Hanyuan was invited to attend the forum and made a keynote speech at the discussion session.

“China’s New Future” is the theme of the 2013 FORTUNE Global Forum, with a program that will focus on the evolution of China’s domestic economy, the development of China’s Western regions, and China’s emerging role in the global context. Dramatic shifts are underway in every major economic sector, and advances in technology are revolutionizing the way that people live and communicate. These shifts are presenting unprecedented business opportunities for Chinese and multinational corporations.

Presided by Yukon Huang, Senior Associate, Carnegie Endowment’s Asia Program, the session focused on the issue of ‘What’s next for rural China?’. Chairman Liu Hanyuan expressed his views with Peter Luo, Founder and CEO, Peter’s Tex-Mex, Ning Tang, Founder and CEO, CreditEase on the issues of urbanization, talent cultivation in rural area, pollution in agricultural business, and China’s aging population.

Mr. Liu emphasized on the importance of knowing the main features of China’s new rural area, and finding the right solution to the issues of “agriculture, farmer and rural area” with proper guidance and efficient utilization of modern rural labor. Meanwhile, it is also necessary to learn experience and lessons from developed countries, strengthen China’s infrastructure construction and acceleration rural urbanization. Modern rural producers should actualize scaled production through financial and policy guidance.

Furthermore, Chairman Liu aired his view on rural talent cultivation. He encouraged young people at the rural area to go out to the cities in the trend of industrialized process. If one chooses to leave at the rural areas, then active learning for expertise shall always be enhanced, especially with a focus on integration of professional knowledge and scaled business operation. Mr. Liu said, China’s agriculture has a huge market basis and wide development potential. It will be the world’s largest market with most development potential and market scale.
