April, 20, the 3rd Tongwei Science and Technology Conference was held in Chengdu and made an official announcement of the establishment of Tongwei Research Institute. Experts from Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Engineering, Chinese Aquaculture Academy of Sciences, as well as over 80 professors from well-known colleges and universities attended the event, and became the first invited experts of the Institute.
Tongwei Research Institute includes expert commission, aquaculture research institute, special aquatic feed research institute, livestock and poultry research institute, animal healthcare research institute, aquatic engineering center, testing center, aquaculture science and technology park, and technical center office. The expert commission is made up by invited elites from the sector, and is in charge of giving guidance and consultations on technique policies, technique development trend, major technical innovation project setup, as well as the selection of Tongwei Tech Fund. The Institute is designated to provide mid- and long-term development planning in technical innovation for the sector on the basis of enterprises, including technical innovation, technical improvement, cooperation among industries, universities and research institutes, innovation team building, as well as project cooperation proposal review, development scheme and equipment purchasing proposal evaluation review.
The conference released science and technology innovation work report with mid-and long-term work objectives, bringing up a positive prospect of science & technology-driven aquaculture for China for next 10 years. Meanwhile, seminars on aquaculture science & technology, livestock & poultry, and animal healthcare were held. Additionally, over 130 professionals made in-depth discussions on leading-edge technical information, market hotspots, research focuses, as well as technical difficulties.
Chairman Liu made a keynote speech at the conference, and said, Tongwei has been committed to scientific research on animal nutrition, environmental protection, food safety as well as sustainable farming. There is no ceiling limit nor minimum guarantee for research fund. The common purpose of annual Tongwei Science and Technology Conference, Tongwei Research Institute is to provide ideas for innovation measures and create conditions for communication with the help of related investment input and mechanism building.
