August 10, director of Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation Chengdu Representative Office Syed Fairus and delegation visited Tongwei, and received warm welcome by secretary of the Board and assistant president Li Gaofei. The delegation listened to the introduction on Tongwei’s development, industrial chain extension, and core business development in agriculture and new energy.

During the discussion, Mr. Fairus introduced Malaysia’s investment environment, and current business opportunities, and warmly welcomed Tongwei to visit and invest in Malaysia. He said, Sichuan Department of Commerce recommended Tongwei as one of Sichuan companies with international vision in Southeast Asia. He expressed the willing to visit Tongwei again and serve as a bridge between Tongwei and Malaysian companies. Mr. Fairus also invited Tongwei to attend Malaysia – China Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum during Western China International Fair in October, and looked forward to a discussion with Chairman Liu.

After Mr. Syed’s introduction, Mr. Li expressed welcome to METDC and Malaysian companies. He introduced relevant information of Tongwei’s previous visit to Southeast Asia, and pointed out that Tongwei regarded Malaysia as the target of next overseas visit. The discussion enhance dbilateral cooperation and helped Tongwei build its overseas strategic layout.

METDC is a Malaysian national trade promotion organization with its headquarters in Kuala Lumpur. Its main functions are promoting Malaysian foreign trade and helping Malaysian corporations in international market. The main task of Chengdu Representative Office is to further broaden commerce between China and Malaysia, and attract Chinese companies to invest in Malaysia.
