May, 16, jointly undertaken by Tongwei Co., Ltd. and Sichuan Agricultural University, the project achievement appraisal of ‘etiology of major bacterial diseases, pathogenesis, prevention and treatment of Channel Catfish’ was held in Chengdu by Science and Technology Department of Sichuan province, Sichuan Animal Husbandry and Food Bureau. The appraisal result shows the overall level of the project takes the lead in China, and reaches the international advanced level in channel catfish infectious intussusception etiology and pathogenesis research. SCAU and Tongwei Co., Ltd. are at the leading edge in channel catfish disease prevention research.

Started in 2004, this project has directly and indirectly created economic returns of ￥276 million RMB during 8-year research and application. It has made important contributions to the healthy and sustainable development of channel catfish breeding industry, and has greatly promoted Tongwei’s advantageous status in fisheries science and technology.
